Virtualization means the creation of an abstract layer, which detaches the physical
hardware from the operating system, in order to ensure better utilization of IT
resources and higher flexibility.
Through virtualization it is possible to create several virtual machines at the
same time, on which various operating systems can be run isolated from one another,
parallel on the same physical machine / hardware. Every virtual machine has its
own virtual hardware set (e.g. RAM, CPU, NIC,etc.), onto which the operating system
and the applications are loaded. The operating system sees a uniform interrelated
/ consistent, normalized hardware set, regardless of the actual physical hardware
components.
The characteristics of virtual machines are embedded into files, enabling fast
back-up, copying and resource allocation to the virtual machine. The entire systems
(the configured applications, operating systems, BIOS and the entire virtual hardware)
can be moved within minutes from one physical server to the other, saving the
hassle of shutdowns and maintenance time expenditures, and consolidating the constant
workload.
These days virtualization has become an important factor - it supports the stability,
security and manageability of business processes and operation in global IT infrastructure.
Virtual machines can be fully detached from the host machine and the rest of
the virtual machines. If the virtual machine stops, the rest of the machines
are unaffected. There will be no data bleed-over between virtual machines, the
applications may only communicate through the configured network connections.
The entire virtual machine environment can be saved as one single file, therefore
back-up, movement and copying can be done easily. The application has standardized,
virtualized hardware available - which guarantees compatibility.
There are several active manufacturers in the market of virtualization technologies,
however, the products of market leader VMware excel by their original solutions
and outstanding price to value ratio.
Optimize, supervise and manage your IT infrastructure, from desktop to data centers,
virtualizing (providing a virtual set-up) of your computer systems, storage solutions
and network systems by the software applications of VMware! VMware products provide
such corporate level virtual machines that increase the level of utilization of
servers and other resources, improve their performance and reduce the down time
of the systems, increase security, decrease the costs of corporate services to
be delivered and also reduce complexity and complicatedness. By enhancing your
already existing technology, VMware enables the distribution of new applications
at a lower risk level and lower platform costs.
WHY SYNERGON SYSTEM INTEGRATOR?
Synergon has been one of the first Hungarian companies to have expanded its portfolio
by “virtualization” technologies. With its trained, certified commercial and engineering
staff, the Company has obtained VMware VIP Enterprise partner qualification.
Our Company has already gained experiences in the implementation, support and
operation of virtualization technologies in several high-volume reference projects.
At the same time, the system integration expertise of the company going back to
fifteen years guarantees that we understand every detail of the system operated
by the customer and offer optimal and customized solutions for every project.

· Technical and Economic University of Budapest
A virtualization environment has been developed in the new infrastructure serving
the Economic Management System of the Technical University (MGR), based on the
servers of HP Proliant industrial standard, using VmWare ESX technology. In
addition to 5 physical servers, 19 virtual servers have been installed in this
project.
· Magyar Fejlesztési Bank Zrt.
Server virtualization and SQL consolidation have been performed for Magyar Fejlesztési
Bank Zrt. Within the project physical servers running Microsoft Windows 2003 Server
operating system have been migrated into a virtual environment (VmWare ESX).
