Wireless Networks

Nowadays there is a growing need for wireless network access products by means of which the wide service choice of data transmission can be delivered to users in an efficient, flexible and cost effective way. The application of the wireless transmission method offers an alternative or complex potential for the replacement or substitution of the connections represented by the wired transmission media.

Freely applicable wireless access networks

A wide solution potential is available both in accordance with the applicable frequency band and the transmission protocol.

WiFi – Wireless LAN solutions

It has the same features as the services represented by the wired LAN networks in conformity with the standards of IEEE 802.11 protocol. Its major function is the expansion of the wired LAN network traffic in offices, halls or any other object. Regarding its architecture, one connection comprises of a minimum of one wireless access node and one or more wireless endpoints. Regarding outdoor applications, the connection range can be extended by using aerials with a higher gain so that the radio frequency sensitivity of the indoor equipment can be improved and increased.

From a system technology aspect, we can talk about point-to-multipoint (PMP) and point-to-point (PP) type WLAN connections.

IEEE 802.16 WiMAX – Wireless Access System (WAS) solutions

This is the large town equivalent of the wireless access networks, with an operating frequency range of 2-11 GHz. The wide interface of the endpoint transmission equipment of the access network is capable of providing a connection for its user.

From a system technology aspect, we can talk about point-to-multipoint (PMP) and point-to-point (PP) type WLAN connections.

FSO - Outdoor optical transmission solutions

Licence fee payable wireless access networks

This is the wireless backhaul network of the backbone networks used by telecommunication service providers. Its major function is the transmission of the wide service interface traffic of the remote subscriber endpoints towards the wired network or other endpoint involved in the service by means of the wireless access nodes located in the backbone nodes.

Regarding its architecture the central access node is a base station with a modular architecture and an adequate base station aerial.  It has a standard interface connection point towards the wired backbone network. The subscriber endpoint has an aerial with an adequate gain and a subscriber terminal which ensures the extensive application of services through standard interfaces for its users requiring even several data transmissions functions.

A remote control system with a proper graphical interface can be matched to the system.

From a system technology aspect, we can talk about point-to-multipoint (PMP) and point-to-point (PP) type microwave connections.

In addition to the Cisco Aironet series product family and its supplementary elements Synergon Information Systems Plc. also offers its customers CE and WiFi classified equipment of other manufacturers (e.g.: Nortel, 3Com, Symbol, Linksys, Huawei) for the wireless LAN field. We offer a data transmission solution for our customers in the field of licence fee payable wireless access networks in accordance with their need by means of single and optimal solutions.

We offer our customers the following wireless access network building and operating related services for the maximum satisfaction of customer needs:

  • An instrument supported site survey. The objective of the on-site survey is to provide the proper design and installation support for the implementation of the network to be built or for the audit of a currently existing network.

  • Selection of a wireless device with consultancy, design solution and if required, with training.

  • The installation and implementation work of wireless devices, together with the documentation of the solution.

  • Other maintenance and upkeep services and solutions emerging during the operation of the wireless network.

Why a wireless network?

  • The wireless transmission media facilitates an installation implementation which requires extremely little wall or road breaking to create the connection

  • It is a cost effective product solution which requires a single investment cost at the time of creating the connection, but produces multiple returns

  • It is flexible and easily adaptable into the currently existing network infrastructure

  • Due to its mobile capacity it is often used as a temporary solution until the wired network is built out

  • It is a durable, standard product palette guaranteeing the same quality features as that of the wired transmission.

Why Synergon?

Synergon sells a market leader product in conformity with its mission. Our company’s experience gained in the design and implementation of wireless networks and the preparedness of our experts ensure that our customers will obtain a solution which is suitable to their needs and the efficiency of which is guaranteed. The design and auditing methodology elaborated by Synergon guarantees the safe and reliable operation of the created network in a unique manner.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

When is it worth choosing a wireless access network system?

In each event, when the wired transmission medium is intended to be substituted. Among other things, the access to the Internet for guests and to the internal network for the employees can be provided for around meeting rooms or common rooms.

How reliable is the security of wireless networks during data transmission? To what extent shall the currently existing security technology processes be modified?

Practical adaptations of standard recommendations provide for the security of wireless connections, however, by means of proper secondary security devices and solutions, the access of unauthorized users can further be decreased. In the event of a properly designed system, the achievable level is the same as that of the wired networks.

In what frequency range can connections be created?

Observing the currently existing frequency regulation guidelines and the user’s application need, the radiofrequency, microwave and optical frequency spectra can be taken into consideration.

To what extent do weather conditions influence the quality of the outdoor connection? What kind of availability characteristics can be ensured?

The open air, as a transmission medium of the connection to be created, exercises a strong influence on the transmission quality. The disturbing effect of the weather and the terrain features in the vicinity can be minimized and even 99.99% availability can be achieved by means of proper dimensioning.

Is it possible to integrate a wireless access network into the currently existing information technology system structure?

Yes, it is possible, since the equipment and devices of the wireless access networks have standard interface connection points.

How long does it take to build up a wireless connection?

In the event of a point-to-point outdoor connection the physical installation of the devices last for some days. In the event of point-multipoint system, it lasts for 2-10 days in relation to the number of endpoints.

What distance can be bridged by a wireless access network?

The distance is 2-15 km in an open air surrounding in function of the carrier frequency of the transmission media applied.

How economical is it to build up wireless connections?

Return calculations shall be made in each case. The economic return of the connection is generally very efficient, and it only requires a single build-up related investment cost. In case a wireless access network licence fee is payable, this cost regularly occurs.

Are the wireless access network elements manageable?

Yes, they are manageable.  The equipment can be remote controlled; their operation and settings can be modified through standard interfaces and solutions.

What data transmission capacity can be provided by a wireless access network?

The transmission capacity increases together with the increase in the frequency of the applied media regarding a connection created by means of an access network node.
