The Unified communication system, formerly known as IP telephone system, offered
by Synergon actually enables the management of the traditional private branch
exchange traffic and the utilization of the private branch exchange services through
the application of the company’s information technology network.
The core difference between the IP telephone system and the traditional private
branch exchange systems is that it does not require a separate cable network,
thus voice is transmitted through the currently existing computer network integrated
into the data transmission. IP telephones are connected to the local Ethernet
network directly, and the human voice is transmitted by means of standard VoIP
protocol. The IP telephone system can be connected to the public telephone networks,
or the company's currently existing traditional private branch exchange through
diverse standard interfaces, such as ISDN2, ISDN30. The IP telephone system can
be connected directly to one or more mobile service providers’ network through
GSM adapters for the purpose of decreasing mobile phone costs. The IP technology
also enables the connection to other switchboards or service providers through
direct IP connections using H.323 and SIP protocols.
The benefits of the IP telephone systems are due to the integrated and standard
VoIP based transmission, since the integrated infrastructure can be utilized and
maintained more efficiently, and the IP telephone systems and the large enterprise
solutions can be integrated more quickly and cost effectively, because today’s
applications are already based mainly on IP standards.
Through the integration of the Presence Solutions the IP telephone system is
capable of indicating the accessibility of a given user by providing information
on whether the person dialed is making a phone call, sitting at his or her computer
or any video-terminal at the moment. Based on this, the uniform personal communicator
and uniform call manager applications help the user to contact their colleagues,
selecting the most efficient manner of communication at the given moment.
Synergon’s IP telephone system solution is based on Cisco technology, but also
comprises of several additions developed by Synergon and its partners, for example:
-
Voice mailbox system
-
IVR system
-
Call Centre system
-
LDAP XML integration
-
Supplementary XML applications
-
XML multimedia telephone usage guide
-
Call accounting system (CasPro)
-
Voice recording system (CARIN)
-
Wireless IP telephone integration, the integration of certain Wifi capable GSM
telephones into the corporate telephone system (e.g.: Nokia E series devices)
-
Voice and video conference systems
-
Presence Solutions
Major benefits regarding maintenance costs:
-
A more simple and structured cabling system which, consequently, can be maintained
at a lower cost
-
The investment cost of the structured cabling system is lower
-
The integrated telephone and computer system can be operated at a lower cost
with less personnel
-
Due to the IP telephone system features, such as telephone transfer without administration
or the application of the central directory, the daily operation tasks can be
performed more effectively.
-
The IP telephone system applying VoIP technology uses the bandwidth more effectively,
which facilitates economization on telecommunication costs in the event of a system
with several sites
-
The IP telephone system connected to several telecommunication service providers
– even to a VoIP service provider – is capable of directing the outbound calls
on the basis of selecting the most favourable tariff.
-
The IP telephone system is more scalable, the system is more flexibly expandable
and facilitates the preservation of former investments
-
The resources can always be established, exploited or expanded in the most optimal
manner in the event of a structure with several buildings or sites, either in
a centralized or decentralized manner – in function of the potentials.
-
The same WLAN infrastructure can serve the wireless telephones, data terminals
and notebooks.
Major benefits regarding the increase in efficiency:
-
Intelligent telephone system services
-
The integration of group work applications
-
The IP telephone system can be integrated into the computerized or modern Internet,
intranet applications with a shorter development time and more efficiently
-
The Internet and intranet applications are also accessible at workplaces where
there is no computer by means of the XML services of the 796x/797x series e-type
IP telephones featuring a high resolution pixel display.
WHY SYNERGON?
Synergon is the largest Cisco Gold partner in Hungary since 1997. Synergon has
the largest installed IP telephony and IP communication system references in the
Hungarian market. Our experience in the market, and the number and knowledge of
our professionals is the key for a successful implementation of Unified Communication.
The basic benefits of the IP telephone system provided by Synergon are as follows:
Synergon provides the following added value services to its IP telephone system
products:
-
Introduction counseling comprises of the survey of the network, the investigation
of the adequacy of the network, the elaboration of the recommended development
steps and the ROI analysis of the recommended system.
-
The design comprises of the elaboration of the project plans for the IP telephone
system.
-
The execution comprises of the implementation of the IP telephone system on the
basis of the project plans and the elaboration of the as-built documentation.
-
The system support service comprises of the classical support services devoted
to the support of the local operation team.
-
The system administration training aimed at training the operation personnel.
-
In addition to the above mentioned points, a remote management service of the
IP telephone system is planned for customers without local operating personnel.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do IP telephone systems have the wide service palette which is common with the
intelligent private branch exchange systems?
Cisco’s IP telephone system and telephone applications feature the services common
in the intelligent private branch exchange services, but these also have significant
benefits regarding CTI applications since these applications can be customized
and integrated into computerized systems in a much more flexible and faster manner.
The built in services can be used more conveniently by means of the IP telephones,
so users will make better use of these facilities.
What is the voice quality like?
The voice quality of IP telephones equals that of the digital private branch
exchange systems since both use the same standard coding (G.711). The voice quality
can even be improved up to hi-fi quality depending on the bandwidth available
in the network.
What is the system availability like?
The availability of the IP telephone system is not lower than that of any traditional
private branch exchange.
Can the currently existing active network devices be applied?
Modern LAN and WAN network devices feature the so-called QoS functions required
for the application of the IP telephone system. In the lack of QoS functions a
network reconstruction is required, through which the data network is modernized
and the potential to introduce new applications is also created.
Can the system be used in Hungarian?
Yes it can, and the language of the user interface can even be specified for
each set.
